Charcoal Portrait / Life Drawing Workshop with Judy Drew
Friday 12 March 2027
Overview
Date: Fri 12 March, 10am - 4pm
This workshop will be about drawing a life model using charcoal. Today we have the freedom to draw without worrying about colour choices.
The workshop will be about fine tuning your observational skills. We will learn to measure with the eye and develop an awareness of light and dark areas - necessary when creating a successful work.
Charcoal offers a wide scope of techniques. It can be used sensitively with a light touch or much more robustly with broad sweeping strokes and a heavier use of charcoal.
It will be fun!
Price: $315.00
If you cancel, a full refund will be given after a replacement registration is received.
About Judy
After studying graphic art in Melbourne, Judy Drew moved to Bougainville Island for nine years. Her oil paintings, pastels and watercolours of the local people established her reputation as a fine artist. Upon returning to Australia and for the past thirty years she has produced both figurative and still life works.
Influence of Japanese art on the post impressionists has lead to a gradual change in her style; using simplified colour and shape to create a more contemporary edge. Judy’s work glows with an intensity of colour rarely seen in pastels. Represented by Melbourne Fine Art Gallery her work is in high demand by investors, galleries and private collections worldwide.
